Space Shuttle Rocket Motor Test

Papa and I were able to be within one mile of this test. It was very interesting and what a sight! It was loud and really shook the ground. Most of us never get a chance to see these huge rockets blast off. Our neighbor Scott McMurtrey works there and took us to see this test of the engine. It produces such a large dust cloud that on the way home after, it rains down dirt for miles. I hope the grandkids like it too.

That looked so cool! How neat to be so close. How often do they do that and can anybody go watch?

Once in a while they have to test the engines. We can let you know the next time and you and the kids can go with us to see it. The kids up here get to take a field trip to see it once in a while. Sometimes the tests are at night, we saw part of it once from our back porch. It lite the whole sky up.
