Happy 4th of July

I have to apologize for the lack of pictures, but we were having too much fun to remember pics.  We went to the parade.  The parade is a must do for the kids.  It's the candy that gets thrown from the floats that the kids want.  And did they get plenty too!!

Our parade has horses, tractors, kids with decorated bikes, pretty girls, drill teams, the school band, old farm equipment, ambulance, fire truck, and even a demolition derby car.

The worst part of the day was after the parade the kids wanted to see the baby calf and they went out back and found it dead.  It was alive and looked okay earlier.  They seemed to handle it okay.

Only Livia, Eva and Sadie went swimming in our little pool.  It was a comfortable 75 degrees most of the day.  Tess got the nickname of Annie Oakley by Papa because of her great be-be gun shooting.  I think all but Sadie and Ella took turns shooting.

We went to the park and watched a hypnotist, a 4th of July dance demo from the town's dance studio, and the finals for "Malad Idol"  They choose a 1,2 and 3rd place winner under age 14 and older than 14.  I have to say it wasn't even a close second to last year.  Actually pretty boring, except for the fact that they threw candy between acts and again the kids cleaned up.  Eva caught a ball that they threw and Eva got a wash cloth ?  Lee and Lara got their exercise taking their kids to the restroom several times.(it's on the other side of the park)

We had plenty of food and popsicles and made smore's around the fire while watching the fireworks from the backyard.  We missed Ryan who had to work and Cheryl who is confined to bed for a least a few days.  We are praying that her pregnancy will be okay.  We couldn't have asked for better mannered grandchildren, all nine of them.  Even little Sadie was almost perfect.  Her only fault . . .she won't let grammie love on her.

Thanks to Lee and Lara for all their help with cooking and feeding the group and to Papa Rex for his BBQ'd perfect hamburgers and his bebe gun expertice.  We had a very Happy Birthday Party for America Day!!!!

That was a fun day!! Thanks for all the good times. There is nothing better than a small town parade and you can't beat the amazing fireworks from your backyard. It is definately a favorite tradition.
